Maranello Signal Ferrari F1
The pre-Canada break has been anything but quiet for the Ferrari Driver Academy. Rafael Camara made his Formula 1 debut at the wheel of an SF-25 at the Hungaroring this week, taking part in a two-day private TPC (Testing of Previous Cars) session organized by the Scuderia. Camara — a Brazilian-Italian talent who has been part of the FDA for five years — is currently in the thick of his first full Formula 2 season, so slotting him into a Friday test programme feels like a realistic near-term goal Ferrari will be building toward.
The Hungaroring has become Ferrari's go-to TPC venue this season. Back in early April it was Arthur Leclerc and two other academy drivers who got their laps in; now it's Camara's turn. These sessions matter beyond the headline — TPC running is structured, deliberate, and data-rich. It's not just about giving a young driver a 'moment'; the team gets useful setup and tyre data, and the driver banks experience on a proper grand prix circuit in a current-spec car. For Camara, who is 20 and on a clear upward trajectory, this is a meaningful step.
Beyond that, today's batch is light on Ferrari signal. The most prominent items circulating are McLaren stories (Stella responding to Hamilton's update comments, the Intel partnership announcement), Alpine personnel moves, and general regulatory clarifications on the ADUO power unit development framework — none of which are primarily Ferrari stories right now. The Camara test is the real news out of Maranello today, and Canada can't come soon enough.
