Maranello Signal Ferrari F1
The break isn't exactly quiet in Maranello. Ferrari is hosting Pirelli at Fiorano this week for 2027 wet-tyre development testing, starting Thursday. Context: the broader F1 calendar has a forced gap right now with two Gulf-region GPs cancelled due to the conflict involving the US, Israel, and Iran, so tyre manufacturers are using the window productively. The Suzuka session with Red Bull and Racing Bulls apparently ran into some complications, which makes Ferrari's slot at their own backyard circuit all the more valuable — Fiorano in the wet is a known quantity for the engineers, and having the test at home means tight feedback loops with the factory.
On the endurance side, the Ferrari 499P gets its 2026 WEC campaign underway at Imola on April 19 — just over a week away. There was a lovely bit of PR content released from back in February: the 499P met up with the Frecce Tricolori aerobatic jets (the Italian equivalent of the Red Arrows) at the Rivolto airbase in Friuli. Two national icons, one photo op. Good theatre, even if it was produced a couple of months ago.
Also worth flagging: a Ferrari filming day is confirmed at Monza on April 22nd. Spotted via a Reddit thread from a fan planning to visit the circuit that week. Filming days are limited-mileage affairs under the regulations, but they do give the team meaningful track time and content generation ahead of Miami.
